Cockrell Hill Public Library

DVDs

The Cockrell Hill Public Library has a variety of adult and children's DVDs available to check out. The DVD cases are shelved while the actual DVDs are maintained at the Circulation Desk.  DVDs can be checked out by presenting the case to the Librarian on duty.  The policies for borrowing DVDs are as follows:

  • No check out fee
  • Patrons may check out no more than 5 DVDs at one time
  • Loan period is 7 days
  • Extended loan fee (overdue fee) is 10 cents per item, per day
  • DVD's are eligible for up to 5 renewal
  • Holds can be requested and patrons will be notified when the DVD is returned and ready for pick up
  • Damaged/Lost items fee will be cost of DVD or a $ base fee for donated DVDs
  • DVDs will be checked for damage BEFORE and AFTER checkouts

Patrons under the age of 18 ("minors") must have parental permission to check out DVDs that are rated R or higher.  This includes unrated DVDs that the Librarian determines may contain material potentially unsuitable for minors.  At the time of registration for a minor, a parent or guardian must authorize permission for the minor to borrow all DVDs or only DVDs rated below R.  If the parent or guardian does not authorize permission, only DVDs below R may be borrowed by the minor.  Parents or guardians can change parental permission by stopping by the Circulation Desk.
